Although the Government decided to abolish the Agricultural Wages Board, along with many other arms’ length governmental bodies, the legislation required to make this happen (Public Bodies Bill) has not yet been passed and it is now too late to proceed with the abolition in October 2011 as planned. It will therefore remain in place for the time being.

Therefore, new agricultural minimum wage rates will be in force from 1st October 2012
