Job Purpose
As a key and effective contributor within the Group Finance team the role will assist the
department to document, test and report on the Group’s financial control environment, and to
continually ensure the controls are;
Compliant, with internal policies and external regulations,
Strong, safeguarding the Group from both internal and external risk factors,
Resilient, withstand scrutiny from external review/investigations, and
Efficient, commercially viable with maximum operational benefit.
Job Overview
Assist with the delivery of documented internal financial risk register and to ensure the most
appropriate controls are adopted, identifying opportunities for strengthening. Perform a
routine program of testing and review of those controls and report findings. Work closely
with the Head of Financial Reporting & Controls to produce Year end statutory financial
statements and to successfully navigate the Group through the annual external statutory
audit.
Key Responsibilities
• Document and maintain an internal financial control risk register for the Group covering
all aspects of financial management (including Taxation).
• Support the onboarding of individual Group subsidiary finance teams to the internal
financial control risk register.
• Undertake a routine program to review the Group’s financial controls, Identifying and
implementing opportunities to strengthen.
• Report findings to senior management on the effectiveness of financial controls.
• Cross-team collaboration to promote best practices in financial controls.
• Provide input to systems development activity with a focus on financial reporting, KPI
measurement, and financial control requirements.
• Support the preparation of annual statutory financial statements and external audit
• Ad-hoc analysis and reporting tasks as and when required by the Group team.
Skills and experience required:
• Must have a recognised accountancy qualification.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to organise and prioritise workload, under strict time sensitive deadlines.
• Sound knowledge of financial controls environments.
• Excellent Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills (Power-BI-desirable but not essential)
• Possess strong communication skills with the ability to engage assertively with key
stakeholders across the Group and to produce clear, concise and coherent written
reports.
