At the start of the year, we asked our employees to nominate charities close to their hearts. And last month, we selected three brand new charity partners for Peninsula UK.

It was a difficult decision to make after sifting through 548 nominations. But I am proud to say that for the next three years, Peninsula will be partnered with:

DEBRA UK - a charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB); a rare genetic skin condition that affects around 500,000 people worldwide.
Together for Short Lives – a charity that provides palliative care for children living with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
Air Ambulances UK – a charity that provides vital funding to air ambulance charities, increasing awareness of their lifesaving work.

Our promise is: 3 million in 3 years.

Each charity will receive £1 million for each year of their Peninsula partnership.

Across company offices, we were lucky enough to have representatives from all of our charity partners come to visit. On 12th April 2024, our employees heard presentations from the charities themselves to find out more about the incredible and important causes they stand for.

We’re looking forward to working together over the next three years and finding new ways to support these wonderful charities. Our partners have lots of exciting events planned and we’ll be encouraging staff to get involved.

Two of our employees will also be participating in the Race Against Time Event on 18th and 19th May 2024 to raise money for Air Ambulances UK. This involves teams of two racing from landmark to landmark across the North West over two days. So, any donations would be greatly appreciated.

Care home manager jailed in £55k fraud
A woman in charge of vulnerable people’s finances has been jailed after abusing her position to steal more than £55,000 directly from residents’ bank accountsr-old Contractor was crushed to death while working at Tata steel’s Port Talbot steelworks. The fatal incident led to a prosecution, and in July 2025, the company was fined £1.5 million following an HSE investigation that uncovered serious safety failings.
