Avoid becoming a toxic boss, someone who does not praise staff when things go right, or fails to motivate at times when needed. Try and avoid micro-managing, allow employees to make decisions that impact their everyday productivity. Employees will appreciate the trust and it helps to make them feel valued. This will also have a positive outlook in the workplace knowing that their decisions are valued and that they are free to make executive decisions that can positively impact on the business. If employees have an idea or vision then listen to what they have to say, whether it be a business idea or a positive change to work. By not becoming a toxic boss employees are more likely to respect you and your decisions, they are more likely to go the extra mile to help both you and your business.
