Remember whenever your business undertakes job interviewing all managers, or whomever is undertaking the interviewing is aware of the questions that are allowed to be asked and those that are unlawful. I speak to employers daily and many of them are surprised at the fact that a candidate can take their employer to employment tribunal because of actions undertaken in a job interview or indeed at any stage throughout the hiring process - this also includes within the job advertisement. So please ensure that your management team are fully aware of employment laws that govern the hiring process and if in doubt seek advice on questions you can and cannot ask first.
