Good month for Virgin Trains…
Virgin Trains has announced it will invest over £700,000 a year in improving the mental and physical wellbeing of its employees.
As part of its commitment, Virgin Trains will educate more than 3,000 employees on how to recognise mental health issues in colleagues and customers, and offer mental health first aid courses.
The train operator has also appointed two ‘mental health champions’ from its board of directors, who will encourage their fellow senior leaders at board level to back Virgin’s mental health policies and agendas.
Bad month for Uber…
Uber has confirmed it has fired 20 employees after a company investigation into sexual harassment claims.
The dismissals came after the investigation looked at more than 200 sexual harassment and misconduct claims. Further sanctions included training for 31 members of staff and final warnings for seven others.
Uber has now commissioned a report on how to improve its workplace culture. The company believes this shows it’s taking the issues seriously and that it will take action against any future offenders.
