National Minimum Wage Increases

As we reported in the last issue of the Bottom Line Express, the National Minimum Wage increases that will take effect in October 2013 have been announced by the Government.

In full, the increases will be:
  • The adult rate (age 21 and over) will increase by 12p to £6.31 an hour;
  • The rate for 18 - 20 year olds will increase by 5p to £5.03 an hour;
  • The rate for 16 - 17 year olds will increase by 4p to £3.72 an hour; and
  • The rate for apprentices will increase by 3p to £2.68 an hour.
  • The maximum accommodation offset will increase by 9p to £4.91 per day.
