The Power of Social Media

I am a fan of social media, I use it to follow and interact with thought leaders and share my own views and insights. However, one tweet last night has led to over 4000 shares and national news coverage. The tweet first picked up by the Manchester Evening News which led to nearly 4000 of its readers sharing the piece with their friends and family. The interesting point was that the tweet related to just over 200 calls from 30,000 organisations who employ over 1,000,000 employees and ring or email us over 1,200,000 times a year. Its clear (as we already know) that Social Media works but its interesting that a non news story has a captured the hearts of so many people but that small number of calls has led to such interest across the UK!
