Subject to parliamentary approval, the rate of Statutory Sick Pay
will increase to £81.60 per week with effect from April 2011.
The standard rate of Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP), Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP) and Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP), will increase to £128.73 per week (or 90% of the person’s average weekly earnings if that is less than £128.73 per week).
It is also anticipated that the rate for Additional Statutory Paternity Pay (ASPP), which will be payable to eligible employee when on Additional Paternity Leave, will be £128.73 per week. Additional Paternity Leave
is available for eligible employees in relation to babies that are born, or where a match for adoption is notified, on or after 3rd April 2011.
The lower earnings limit for entitlement to SSP and SMP/SPP/SAP will increase to £102 per week (employees have no entitlement to SSP and SMP/SPP/ASPP/SAP if their average weekly earnings are below the lower earnings limit).
