What is heat stress?  

Heat stress happens when the body’s ability to control internal temperature fails—working in hot weather is a common cause of this.  
 
Its impact on people varies, with some being more prone than others. Nonetheless, the symptoms of heat stress are serious and must be mitigated. They include the following: 

• Dehydration  

• Fainting  

• Heat exhaustion  

• Heat stroke
