Many a budding career has been ruined by bad behaviour at the office party. Whilst you want people to have a good time, relax and enjoy themselves, as an employer it’s still reasonable to expect a certain level of common sense and decent behaviour from your employees.

By having a policy in place explaining to employees what level of conduct is expected of them, at least a benchmark is set and employees have had the consequences explained if they behave inappropriately. Remember that if things go wrong, the office party can be a ticking time bomb of potential discrimination complaints.
