See also ‘Discrimination’ - Membership of the Travelling Community in an employment law context arises as one of the nine grounds of discrimination in Ireland, as outlined in the Employment Equality Acts, 1998-2008. Section 6 of the Employment Equality Acts states that discrimination shall be taken to occur where one person is treated less favourably than another on the basis that the mistreated individual is a member of the traveller community and the other is not.
