See also ‘Discrimination’ - Religion in an employment law context arises as one of the nine grounds of discrimination in Ireland, as outlined in the Employment Equality Acts, 1998-2008. Section 6 of the Employment Equality Acts states that discrimination shall be taken to occur where one person is treated less favourably than another on the basis that one has a different religious belief from the other, or that one has a religious belief and the other has not.
