Employment Tribunals are independent judicial bodies who determine disputes between employers and employees over employment rights.

Tribunals are independent, generally open to the public and operate like a court but without some of the formality of a court environment. In Ireland, there are currently four forums under the employment litigation mechanism and these are the Labour Relations Commission, the Employment Appeals Tribunal, the Labour Court and the Equality Tribunal.
