More than 20 million people in the UK have now had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. That’s an incredible achievement.

More than 20 million people in the UK have now had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. That’s an incredible achievement.

Because it’s clear that vaccination is the only route to freedom from COVID-19. So we all need to do our part to make the UK’s vaccine programme a success.

And employers will play a crucial role in this process.

Our attitudes in the workplace will have a huge impact on whether employees feel confident enough to take the vaccine. And our actions when managing staff will determine how easy it is for them to attend their appointments.

That’s a big responsibility for UK business leaders. The good news is our HR and health & safety teams are here to help.

We’ve also launched VaccTrak, a new online tool for BrightHR. VaccTrak lets you monitor the vaccine rollout in your workforce to keep track who’s had the jab and who’s still on the waiting list.

It also gives you access to an exclusive vaccine awareness course to help you share knowledge with your staff and build confidence in the UK’s vaccine programme.

If you’re a BrightHR user, then you already have access to VaccTrak. Simply log in to your account to get started. If you’re not yet a BrightHR user, don’t worry. Because all Peninsula clients can still access VaccTrak Lite, completely free.

There’s no doubt that getting back to normal will take a huge collective effort. At Peninsula, I’m proud to say we’re playing our part.

Not only are we supporting thousands of UK business leaders through the vaccine rollout, but we’re also making it as easy as possible for our own people to access potentially life-saving jabs.

That includes providing flexibility for employees to take the vaccine and offering paid time-off for vaccine appointments during working hours.

It won’t always be an easy path back to normality, and we’ll likely face new hurdles on the road to recovery. But as we move into spring, we can all look forward to a new sense of hope and optimism.

And if there’s one thing I know, it’s that together we’ll come through this challenging time stronger than ever.

    Supporting financial wellbeing

Supporting employee wellbeing should be a focal point of all businesses, and not just where it has been impacted by work. Employees may require support for a wide variety of reasons, some more obvious than others. These could include mental health issues, financial worries, addiction, divorce, fertility issues, menopause, domestic abuse, health concerns, family problems, and many more. Whilst the law may influence how employees are supported with some of these areas, for others, it is down to the individual business.
