How we can help
Businesses have a legal obligation to have a fire risk assessment in place to identify hazards and protect employees for any work premises. A fire risk assessment helps prevent fires, ensuring safe evacuation procedures and reduces risks. It must be conducted by a competent person with the appropriate certifications and qualifications.
At Peninsula, our fire risk assessments are certified and approved by the British Approvals for Fire Equipment (BAFE) and we are an affiliate member of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM).

5-step checklist for a fire risk assessment
- 1. Identify Hazards: Identify items that can cause fire such as ignition sources and flammable or combustible materials.
- 2. Identify People at Risk: Consider staff, visitors and vulnerable individuals on your premises.
- 3. Evaluate and Act: Evaluate by assessing the risks and creating appropriate control measures.
- 4. Record and Train: Ensure you document findings, plan for emergencies, and train staff to ensure everybody knows about emergency procedures. This is a legal requirement for your business by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
- 5. Review: Regularly review and update your fire risk assessment to ensure it remains valid, especially if your business have had any significant changes.
