On Thursday 19th October 2017, we were delighted to see Sir Alex Ferguson and the Class of ’92 unveil the Peninsula Stadium, Salford City FC’s new 5,000-seater home ground. The day also marked the beginning of our new partnership with the club, in a deal that makes us their main title sponsor for the next five years. Local commitment The partnership goes beyond football. Together, we’ll engage with the Salford community on a wide range of initiatives, building on our long-term commitment to the area. Managing Director and Founder, Peter Done, commented: “Salford City is the perfect fit for Peninsula. They’re the club from where I was born, raised, live, and started my first business. It’s great to support them and give something back to the area.” “We admire the vision and ambition of everyone at the club. And, similar to how we started as a small business before expanding, Salford City FC has already come a long way and is climbing up the football league.” The club comments The club’s board, the Class of ’92 (Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt), echoed those sentiments in a joint statement about the partnership. “We are delighted to have Peninsula on board. When we were looking for partners, Peninsula was the perfect choice. It’s a local company with offices in Salford and a major employer in the North West. “We are excited and proud of our stadium and looking forward to working together. It will be more than just naming rights, it will be about engaging with and working alongside the community.” An All-Star Match will mark the launch of the partnership on Sunday 12th November 2017 at the Peninsula Stadium. Kick off is at 3:00pm. For ticket information and further details, please visit www.salfordcityfc.co.uk
