Victims of Domestic Violence leave

This webinar details the newly introduced (enforced since November 27th 2023) statutory leave entitlement for employees who are victims of domestic violence. Some notable features include:

  • This new right came into force on the 27th of November 2023.

  • The purpose of this type of leave is to allow the employee to do such things as: Seek medical attention, relocate, or seek advice from a lawyer to name a few.

  • During this leave you will have to pay employees their normal rate of pay.

  • This leave is capped at 5 days in any period of 12 consecutive months.

  • We suggest you adjust your documentation to take into account this new right.
