    Health & safety support

Intro

Cash Converters is a second-hand retailer brand made up of individual franchisees. Sharon is the Area Manager for seven Cash Converters franchisees.

Due to concerns with her previous provider, she chose to outsource her health & safety to Peninsula.

The situation

Before Peninsula, Sharon already had access to a third-party health & safety provider.

But despite this, Sharon health & safety support was lacking in certain areas. In particular, she didn’t feel that her risk assessments included enough detail around cash handling.

And for Sharon’s employees, cash handling is big part of the job. Without taking extra precaution, her staff would be more vulnerable to dangerous situations, like violence and theft.

I don’t think we really had everything covered from a risk assessment situation...

and we didn’t feel that we were getting the cover that we needed.

The solution

Feeling unprotected, Sharon outsourced her HR and health & safety to Peninsula instead.

After speaking with her new consultants, she discovered that her health & safety processes were lacking in some areas – and overly time-consuming and detailed in others.

That’s because the support she received was generic. It wasn’t tailored around the specific risks Sharon’s staff face.

Peninsula advisers assessed Sharon’s stores and identified their risks. Then, they developed an action plan to support Sharon in protecting her staff, including updating their health & safety policies and risk assessments.

Before Peninsula, our risk assessments were quite generic, and we didn’t feel that we were getting the cover that we needed. Which is why we decided to go with you guys
