It's party season...
A festive party is a great chance to celebrate your company's successes over the past year, and treat your staff to some well-earned fun.
But just because your staff are mingling outside of work, your HR rules still apply.
You still have a duty to keep staff safe, and protect them from harassment and discrimination. And with the new Workers Protection Act, you have a new duty to protect your staff against third-party harassment too - so you'll need to protect employees from members of the public.
Plus, if alcohol is readily available, staff conduct and disputes might be harder to manage too. While you want staff to relax and have fun, you also don't want to manage a grievance on Monday morning...
