Rewarding long service is essential, here at Peninsula a number of employees have worked with us for in excess of 20 years. I consciously used the phrase “work with us” because we encourage a culture in which embraces ideas from our employees, we always have and will continue to do so. Some of the best ideas originated from our employees, especially those with many years service, they know how our business works, their ideas have helped shaped the business and indeed how we can improve logistics and continually offer the best service to our 30,000 clients. As a business we never believe in standing still, we are always evolving and looking at new ways to embrace and help employers. However the most important asset in any business is its employees and in our case we appreciate those that have worked with us for many years. It’s very important that these individuals are recognised - many joined us straight from school or college and have been a member of, what we call here at Peninsula, “the family” some clocking up over 20 years service. As a director it makes me happy to see such passionate individuals who have embraced the business, understand how we work and help us develop the business.
We recognise such individuals by providing long service badges, such as the one you see below, for those that have been with us in excess of 25 years they receive a personal message from the managing director which is engraved in a rather impressive paperweight for their desk. However it’s more than just a token of our appreciation; many of the individuals have progressed throughout the ranks of our business, we recognise their contribution, their ideas, their enthusiasm for our business and we will reward anyone who shows commitment and the ability to make a difference - whether you have been with us for 20 years or 2 years. If any employee can make a difference then I believe they should be recognised for their efforts. So ask yourself within your business, are you recognising those individuals that are helping your business make a difference? As your biggest asset maybe it is time to review.
